1. Who runs this site
VideshTax (videshtax.com) is owned and published by Marne Media LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India. These terms are an agreement between you and Marne Media LLP about your use of the site. By using the site, you accept them; if you don’t agree with them, please don’t use it.
2. General information, not advice
Everything on VideshTax is general information about Indian tax, and related rules in other countries, for Indians living abroad. It isn’t tax, legal or financial advice for your situation, and using the site doesn’t make VideshTax or Marne Media LLP your adviser. The full disclaimer explains how to treat what you read here. Where a guide has a “When to get a CA” section, it describes the situations where you’re likely to need a professional who can look at your own facts.
3. Calculators give estimates
The calculators and checkers on VideshTax help you estimate an outcome, such as tax due, a deadline or whether a threshold applies, from the details you enter. They’re tested against worked examples, but their results are estimates, not a tax return or a professional opinion, and they can’t allow for facts you haven’t entered. Check any result that matters against the official source, or with a professional, before you act on it.
4. Accuracy, and no warranty
We take care to check what we publish against primary sources, such as the Income-tax Act, 2025, the Income-tax Rules, CBDT circulars and notifications, RBI and FEMA directions, treaty text and, for US rules, IRS guidance, and we re-check guides regularly. Even so, tax law changes, and a page can fall out of date or contain a mistake. The site is provided “as is”: to the extent the law allows, we give no warranty, express or implied, that any page or calculator is complete, accurate or current.
5. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Marne Media LLP isn’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site, including any tax, penalty, interest or other cost you incur by acting, or not acting, on something you read or calculate here. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t lawfully be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
6. Using our content
The text, guides, calculators, design, and the VideshTax name and logo belong to Marne Media LLP, except where we credit someone else. You’re welcome to quote a short passage if you credit VideshTax and link to the page it came from. You may not, without our written permission:
- republish a guide, or a substantial part of one, anywhere else;
- scrape or copy the site in bulk, or use its content to train AI models;
- use the VideshTax name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.
7. Using the site fairly
Don’t use the site in a way that disrupts it or interferes with other readers, such as overloading it with automated requests or trying to get around its security.
8. Links to other sites
VideshTax links to official sources, such as incometax.gov.in, the CBDT and the RBI, and may in future link to partners, which will always be labelled as partner links; see how we make money. We don’t control other sites and aren’t responsible for them, and a link isn’t an endorsement of everything on the site it points to.

Our privacy policy explains what the site collects and how it’s used.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The version on this page is the one that applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, subject to any mandatory rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
