1. General information, not advice
VideshTax is general information about Indian tax, and related rules in other countries, for Indians living abroad. It isn’t tax, legal or financial advice for your situation, and reading a guide or using a calculator here doesn’t make VideshTax or Marne Media LLP your adviser.
2. Accuracy and dates
We check the figures and rules we publish against primary sources, such as the Income-tax Act, 2025, the Income-tax Rules, CBDT circulars and notifications, RBI and FEMA directions, treaty text and, for US rules, IRS guidance, and we re-check guides regularly and after each Union Budget. Each guide shows the tax year it applies to and the date it was last checked. Even so, tax law changes, and a page can fall out of date or contain a mistake between checks. We don’t guarantee that any page is complete, accurate or current when you read it. How we check is set out in how we check our guides.
3. Calculators
Calculator and checker results are estimates based only on what you enter. They aren’t a tax return, a computation you can file, or a professional opinion.

5. Links to other sites
We link to official sources and, in future, may link to partners who pay us a referral fee; partner links will always be labelled where they appear. See how we make money. A link to another site isn’t an endorsement of everything on it.
6. What to do before you act
Check the tax year and the “last checked” date on the guide you’re reading, and follow the link to the primary source for any figure you’re relying on. If your situation is one the guide’s “When to get a CA” section describes, talk to a professional who can look at your own facts.
