Tax guides are “your money or your life” content, so we treat corrections seriously. When a reader or our own re-checking turns up an error:
- We fix it as soon as we can confirm the correct figure or rule against a primary source.
- The fix is logged in the affected page’s own update log, with the date.
- If the error was material — it could have changed what a reader did or owed — we also add a note here and keep a short notice at the top of the affected page for 30 days.
What counts as material
An error is material if it could change the tax someone owes, a deadline they need to meet, or a decision they’d make (which form to file, which exemption to claim, whether to get professional help). Typos, broken links and formatting fixes aren’t logged here — they don’t change a page’s “checked on” date either.
